This is a good s tilch to use in attaching or binding

elastic fabrics and stretch lace, lingerie stretch knit.

The stitch is decorative as well as useful.

Use this versatile s titch to insert elastic in garments.

S imply stitch elastic into place, making sure it is

evenly spaced. To do this, mark the correct length

piece into quarters, then match these markings with

center front and side seams .

Turn the raw edgeunder 2cm and press. P lace the

fabric right side up with the middle of the turnover

under the center of the press er foot, s o that the

stitch s ews on to the fold and jus t over the raw edge

underneath.

The built -in buttonhole mechanism of this machine makes it possible to sew

button holes in a short time without turning the material.

R aise the foot and the needle to its highes t pos ition. R eplace the foot with

the trans parent buttonhole foot for sewing buttonholes.

Mark the location and the desired length of buttonhole on the fabric using a

pencil or tailor s chalk.

Note:

(Model E P 377 and 374 only)

*To find the most suitable

stitch length, it is better

to sew a sample buttonhole

on a piece of waste fabric.

* When sewing very fine

fabrics and synthetics, de-

crease the press ure of foot

and sew over a piece of

paper to prevent yarn dis-

tortion.

* T he mark on the s titch

length dial s hows a range of

buttonhole sewing. An

adjustment can be made

by setting the mark, as

s hown.

* Buttonhole stitch length is

adjus table only on one s ide.
